Ray Cirerol was raised in the neighborhood of Lincoln Heights. Los Angeles brought many opportunities for the young artist, ranging from mural painting to filmmaking. Within the last decade, Ray had contributed his artistic services to the Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Santa Barbara. His oil painting commissioned by the late Father Quihuis, of Saint Juan Diego hangs as the focal point of the shrine at the church. Additionally, he has restored a majority of the statues displayed within the church. His final project for the church was the restoration of the nativity scene which was completed in the summer of 2013. Ray’s spiritual contributions can also be viewed at the Church of God in Christ, in Santa Barbara, California. There you will find three oil paintings displayed as backdrops of the church. The paintings were commissioned by the Rev. George Brooks, Jr.
