This summer we have THREE YI Students participating in Launch Generation programs in San Diego and Cambridge!
Launch generation is designed for high school students (14-18 years old) and aims to educate and inspire the next generation of leaders. Whitney Webb, co-founder of Launch Generation, is a member of the YI Board and has graciously created the opportunity for these students to attend the program this summer! Launch uses hands-on sessions, team projects, workshops, and speakers to teach skills like budgeting, prototyping, branding, goal setting, etc. Additionally, students get to work in teams to create an original business idea that is pitched and judged at the end of the week!
HEAR FROM THE STUDENTS:
Pier Pressure Designs student, Cali Stewart, will be attending the Cambridge program in mid August, which is held at the University of Cambridge in the UK.
“I’m excited because I get to explore a different part of the world, and I feel like I’m closer to being good enough. I’m not scared of anything but excited for the opportunity.”
Infinite Treasures student, Osiel Ocampo, will be attending the San Diego program in the beginning of July, which is held at the University of California, San Diego.
“I am excited to meet like-minded individuals and further explore areas of business and leadership. I am nervous about being away from home but also excited. Being uncomfortable is something I need to get used to and this is a great way to do so.”
Infinite Treasures student, Helene Navarrete, will also be attending the San Diego program at UCSD in early July.
“I’m excited to meet new people and further my entrepreneurial skills and learn new business ideas. I’m also excited to be in San Diego and to explore the campus! I’m scared that I won’t have good ideas or that they may not like me, and I’m nervous to be there overnight in a room with someone I don’t know. But overall, I’m super hyped to be a part of this program and can’t wait to share my ideas!”
