Santa Barbara Channelkeeper

We are BEYOND grateful for Santa Barbara Channelkeeper and the amazing opportunities they have provided our students with! SBCK has already taken 3 groups of Youth Interactive students out on an educational boat ride around the Santa Barbara Channel. On these trips, our students have had the opportunity to not only learn about our local marine life, but actually see it for themselves!

The SB Channelkeepers have been teaching our students about marine biology and conservation efforts both above and below water. During the trip, two of the program leaders scuba dive with a camera and a microphone to show the students life below the surface while talking them through the whole thing! On the last trip, we saw Orcas, Bottlenose Dolphins and Harbor Seals from the top of the boat, as well as countless species of fish below surface!

We truly want to thank Penny, Jenna, and Ben for being so knowledgable, excited, and really engaging with our students! This is definitely a trip that everyone in Santa Barbara needs to experience!
